I snapped this selfie with my sweet baby girl last week.  I wanted to capture this time in our lives to show her in future years and, of course, to have pictures to relive these precious memories when I’m older too. On this particular morning my husband had taken my two older boys out so it was just… {read more}

Review: Feeleez Tools for Emotional Education

Review: Feeleez Tools for Emotional Education

A few years ago I came across some free colouring pages that helped kids learn to identify feelings.  I loved how there were no “right” or “wrong” answers for the Feeleez characters, but just an open ended opportunity for children to explore the topic of feelings. Identifying feelings is an important step for developing empathy.  Today I’m excited… {read more}

As a new parent, I always wanted to help my son learn to be a good friend.  When he was a toddler, this meant saying hello to everyone, becoming comfortable introducing himself, and gaining confidence to play with new children.  We practiced saying “thank you” when someone gives you something, and talked about forgiving when… {read more}
